LUCERNE: The Rose d’Or festival is refreshing its branding for its 51st year, with a revamped website and the new tagline: Global Entertainment Television Festival.

In keeping with the long-standing tradition of the Rose d’Or festival, the competition will focus on celebrating the best entertainment TV formats and programs. There is also now an emphasized commitment on entertainment, bolstered by the new slogan Global Entertainment Television Festival. President Marco Castellaneta commented: "We are making a commitment to ensure the Rose d’Or remains one of the most important events for the international entertainment television industry."

The 2012 competition launches its call to entries on April 18, 2011, with a few changes in place. The categories have been redefined to more accurately reflect the genres of entertainment television. TV movies and series, for example, will now be separate categories, as will children and youth. New categories added this year include telenovela and lifestyle. Festival director Markus Helbling commented: "The categories represent entertainment television today, as it is understood both by the television industry and also the audience."

The redesigned website provides ongoing contributions from the world of entertainment TV as well as information about the festival itself. The site also features access to more than 50 years of archives of the Rose d’Or and this area will continue to be expanded.
